How to be saved
The key ingredient necessary to being saved or obtaining salvation is FAITH. For without FAITH it is impossible to please him Hebrew 11:6 but we must remember that FAITH without works is DEAD. James 2:17-16
Jesus declares that, “He who believeth and is baptized shall be saved” (St. Mark 16:16), so being baptized is evidence of your belief or the work that follows your faith.
Also in Acts 19:2, the Apostle Paul asked certain disciples “Have you received the HOLY GHOST since ye believe.” So we see that receiving the HOLY GHOST is the evidence of your belief or the work that follows your faith. These two acts/works of FAITH must be evident and realized by every believer before they profess salvation; water (baptism in the name of Jesus Christ) and spirit (the receiving of the HOLY GHOST)
St. John 3:5
Acts 2:38
Acts 10:44-48
Acts 19:5-6
After completing these two acts or works of FAITH one must continue steadfast in the apostles’ doctrine/continue in God’s word.
Act 2:42
St. John 8:31
